Three Amigos Again To Sarasota Senior Friendship Center Photo Show

Sue Karski has again been asked to display her photographs with her friends Pat and Guy Bond starting July 25, 2014. The Three Amigos as the friends call themselves have been exhibiting their photographs for the past couple of years together and this year is no different. With the wide variety of styles Sue said that each compliment each other's work and is pleased to be given the opportunity to exhibit at the Friendship Center with her friends. The Friendship Center is located at 1900 Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota, FL and the show will be on display until September 13th.

Sue Karski Photo For Cover

There was a calling for photographs of Sarasota and Sue submitted a couple. Sue is pleased to announce that one of my photos was selected for the cover of Sarasota's Senior Services Directory 2013.
The photograph selected was of the Sarasota Ringling Bridge taken at sunset from the side of the bridge. It was a different angle than most people take of this highly photographed causeway.

Artbook of Tampa Bay 2013 has been published and Sue Karski had nine of her photographs selected. She said that she was honored to be selected again. Sue had submitted a variety of photographs and she is pleased to have nine included in this edition.

Photographer Sue Karski Selected For Ad Creation

The owners of Nada Cigars asked photographer Sue Karski to create an unique photographic look for their advertisements. The technique of Light Painting was used to create a special look for highlighting their cigars. Sue uses this technique because she can light the subject from multiple angles and highlight a single subject or multiple subjects without lighting everything which makes it look flat.

Sue Karski Invited To Exhibit Photos

During the month of July, Sue Karski has been invited to exhibit twenty-four of her photos in the Sarasota Senior Friendship Center, in Sarasota Florida. Sue commented that she felt honored to be recognized in this manner and is thrilled to be asked to exhibit along with two other people at the Senior Friendship Center. The center has been hosting many works of art over the past months, and Sue currently has six photos included in the exhibit there with James Corwin Johnson with Friends and Students during the month of May. There are a large number of people who visit and use this center and having her photographs there she feels is quite a privilege.

First Artbook Tampa Bay Includes Six Sue Karski Photos

The first ever Artbook of Tampa Bay has finished the selection of art to be included and Sue Karski had six of her photographs selected. She said that she was honored to be selected and is looking forward to this new method to display her work. Sue had hoped to get one of her photos selected and she is absolutely thrilled with having six of her work included in the iTunes project.

HD Interactive is a Tampa Bay software development company specializing in websites, interactive museum kiosks, touch-screen walls, 3-D projection, and mobile app and video game development. The agency also specializes in Flash, Flex, Adobe AIR and augmented reality solutions. Artbook, an interactive, digital picture book app featuring original artwork.

Colorful Night Lights Awarded Honorable Mention

The Meadows 30th Juried Amateur Photographic Competition held their award reception tonight and Sue Karski's Colorful Night Lights was awarded an Honorable Mention award. There were over 370 photographs submitted for this competition. Sue was honored that one of her photographs won an award. She said this has always been a tough competition because of the caliber of the photographers who enter. Sue also had four other photographs that were selected to be hung for display in the show.
The Meadows community is located in Sarasota, Florida and they have a very active group of photographers and each year they host a Photographic Competition in February that is open to residents of Sarasota and Manatee counties of Florida.

Chapel Photo Takes Third Place Ribbon

The 28th Annual Senior Friendship Center Juried Photographic Competition and Show was held in February 2012 in partnership with the Sarasota Camera Club. This contest was open only to amateur photographers. Sue Karski's "A Chapel in the Valley" HDR photo of Cook's Meadow in Yosemite Valley, California was awarded third place. Sue did not enter the topaz enhanced version but the HDR version of this photograph. Sue learned of this particular angle of Cook's meadow from James Corwin Johnson who was the photographer for Yosemite for a number of years. This photo was taken on a photo tour with James Corwin Johnson. Sue had fractured her elbow right after she arrived in Yosemite, but continued with the photo tour. The effort to setup a tripod and get just the right angle was made more difficult with her arm in a sling.

Three First Place Ribbons Awarded To Sue Karski

The 2012 Manatee County Fair held in January in Florida was a blue ribbon contest for Sue Karski. She entered three photos, two color photographs and one black and white. Sue was awarded two first place premium ribbons with rosettes for her photographs of "Colorful Night Lights" and "Corkscrew Heron" and a first place premium ribbon for the black and white version of "A Chapel in the Valley".

Tampa Skyline Photo Wins 2nd In A Photo Experience Photo Contest

The photo "Colorful Night Lights" was awarded second place in the photo contest held at A Photo Experience. James Corwin Johnson's A Photo Experience is a photography studio in Sarasota, Florida and in December 2011 they held a photo contest. There were a variety of photographs submitted and Sue not only garnered a second place for the Tampa Skyline, she also won Viewers Choice for the HDR, topaz enhanced version of "A Chapel in the Valley".
The Tampa Skyline photo was taken from Davis Island looking towards Tampa, just as the sun was setting. The photograph used a 30 second exposure to enable getting all the evening colors.
The Yosemite photograph was taken in May 2011 on a photo excursion with James Corwin Johnson.
